# GEO agency for generative engine optimisation

## The full programme for generated answers.

GEO is the broadest of the four disciplines. It asks whether your brand gets recommended when someone puts a problem to ChatGPT, Perplexity or Google AI Mode. And it makes that measurable.

## What generative engine optimisation means here.

Lead KPI
GEO

Share of voice in generated answers

Across every answer to your question set: how often you appear, and how often somebody else stands there instead. Measured across several systems, dated, repeatable.

- Target all answer surfaces

- Format programme, ongoing

- Audience marketing leads

Generative engine optimisation is the work of getting a system that writes its own answer to name and link your brand inside it. The difference from classic search optimisation sits in the output: no list to choose from, but a finished paragraph with two to four sources.

That changes the split of work. Part is technical, part is language, a large part is reputation outside your own domain. And one part that gets underestimated is simply order: company name, services, locations and figures reading the same everywhere they appear.

So we treat GEO as a programme running over months rather than a checklist. The individual pieces are available on their own, see [services](https://www.agenticsearch.at/en/services/).

Scope

## What sits inside a GEO project.

### Measurement and question set

The questions your customers really ask, fixed into a set. Run against the systems
that matter to you. A baseline with a date.

### Fact base

Entities, structured data, consistent details across every source. The product for
that is [AI Brain](https://www.agenticsearch.at/en/services/ai-brain/).

### Answer structure

Content built so a question is answered cleanly in a few sentences, and those
sentences can be quoted.

### Source work

Mentions on sites the systems trust: trade media, associations, directories, press.
Without selling paid placements that carry nothing.

### Technical groundwork

Reachable for the providers' crawlers, clean markup, stable addresses. A broken URL
devalues every citation hanging off it.

### Repetition

The same measurement at a fixed interval, so single observations become a trend.
Available continuously as
[monitoring](https://www.agenticsearch.at/en/services/ai-visibility-monitoring/).

Boundaries

## When you need something else.

### Question content only

If your goal is individual questions and getting your answer quoted, that is a narrower and cheaper piece of work.

### Sources and brand only

If your website is in good shape and the problem is that nobody outside mentions you, this is source work.

### Existing SEO

If you have run SEO for years and want to know what AI changes, start there instead.

Common questions

## About GEO.

**What exactly is generative engine optimisation?**

The work of getting a system that writes its own answer to name and link your brand inside it. It covers technology, content, structured data and mentions outside your own website. The term is young, several of its parts are not.

**What goes into a GEO project with you?**

Measurement with a fixed question set, fact base, answer structure, source work, technical groundwork and repeating the measurement. How much weight each part carries comes out of the audit, not from a standard package.

**What share of voice can we expect?**

Nobody can put a serious number on that in advance, because it depends on the competition inside your question set. A niche with three providers looks different from a market with fifty. After the first measurement we tell you what is realistic.

**Does GEO work in niches with little search volume?**

Often better than in large markets. Where few sources exist, the systems fall back on exactly those. The condition is that somebody asks the question at all, which we check first.

**How often do the systems change?**

Constantly, and usually without notice. That is why we measure with a frozen question set and date every run. Otherwise you cannot tell later whether your visibility moved or the system did.

**What if a model describes us incorrectly?**

First we look for the source of the wrong claim, because it usually sits somewhere on the web and is only being repeated. Correcting that source works faster than any attempt to reach the model. For serious cases some providers offer reporting routes, which we use.

**Does GEO apply to local queries?**

Yes, and the region shifts the answer noticeably. So we measure by location as well. For queries with a local element, map and directory listings matter more, because the systems lean on them heavily.

**Does GEO need new content or is existing content enough?**

In most projects, revision outweighs creation. Plenty of pages hold the right information but bury it in marketing language. New content appears where a question your audience asks is missing from your site entirely.

**How does GEO relate to digital PR?**

Closely. Mentions in trade media and press portals are solid sources for generative systems. In Austrian search results on this topic, third-party publications rank visibly. So we plan PR as part of the programme rather than an add-on.

**What do you do when a competitor is named everywhere?**

We look at what the mention rests on: their own content, third-party sources, directories, reviews. Usually a pattern of two or three recurring sources shows up. That becomes a task list, not a copy of their strategy.

**How will we know GEO is working?**

From share of voice over time, from the number of systems naming you, and from enquiries where people say they found you through a chatbot. The last one shows up in no tool, which is why we ask about it in the contact form.

**From what company size is this worth doing?**

Size matters less than the buying decision. If your customers research and compare before buying, it pays off early. For impulse purchases without research, less so, whatever the size of the company.

Difference

## How others do this, and how we do.

Not a judgement on individual agencies, but a description of two approaches. The right column is checkable, because this website itself is built that way.

Difference

Usual agency approach

agenticsearch.at

Starting point

A proposal after a first call

A measurement with a date, before anything gets recommended

Basis

Keywords from classic search

A question set of real prompts, clustered and prioritised

Proof of success

Rankings and a visibility index

Mentions per question and system, with the raw data

Reporting

A monthly dashboard with curves

The same measurement repeated, change called only after three runs

When unsure

Try it and see what happens

We say what is not evidenced, and write it on the page

Tooling

Agency licences, access ends with the contract

The question set and the data are yours, afterwards too

Scope

As many channels as possible from one supplier

A capped number of concurrent projects, otherwise we turn it down

Your guides

## You play the lead.

You know your business, your customers and your offer better than any agency does. What is usually missing is solid numbers on how AI systems talk about it, and an order in which to tackle that.

The number of concurrent projects is capped. When a piece of work needs more capacity than exists, we turn it down rather than take it on.

01

### You know where you stand

It starts with a measurement, not a proposal. You see in black and white which AI answers name your company and which do not, with a date and a question set.

02

### You know what comes next

Instead of a list of everything, you get an order. Every step has a result you can verify yourself, including without us.

03

### You keep the decisions

Your offer and your positioning stay yours. We tell you what stands in the way of visibility and take on the technical part of it.
